“Candyman” Actor Tony Todd Dies at Age 69

Fans are mourning the death of veteran actor Tony Todd who has died at age 69.

The American supernatural horror film series originating from the 1985 short story “The Forbidden” from the collection Books of Blood by Clive Barker, about the legend of the “Candyman”, the ghost of an artist and son of a slave who was murdered in the late 19th century. 

The role was played by Tony Todd, who is best known for his portrayal of Daniel Robitaille, also known as the Candyman, a killer who is summoned by saying his name five times in front of a mirror.

Prosecutors Cite Lyrics in Chicago Rapper Lil Durk Murder for Hire Indictment

Chicago rapper Lil Durk is the latest hip hop artist to be indicted on criminal charges and the authorities are digging in the crates and referencing his song lyrics to use against him.

According to justice.gov, Durk Banks, 32, a.k.a. “Lil Durk,” “Blood,” and “Mustafa Abdul Malak,” is charged with one count of conspiracy, one count of use of interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death, and one count of using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun and possession of such firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.

There are so many great masterpiece films that come to mind but since we’re on a crime based blog, we’ll stick to crime based movies.

This list is so hard to narrow down but if made to choose, my top three would be: Al Pacino as Miami drug lord Scarface, Johnny Depp as drug trafficker George Jung in Blow and Denzel Washington as Harlem drug trafficker Frank Lucas in American Gangster.
