The Bipartisan Criminal Justice Summit in Washington brought together organizations and speakers who are supportive of criminal justice reform.

An overhaul of U.S. criminal justice laws looks increasingly possible, and the 2016 presidential campaign just might give the effort a shot in the arm, says Sen. Cory Booker, D-New Jersey.

The issue was the focus of Thursday’s Bipartisan Summit for Criminal Justice Reform. The event was sponsored by groups that make odd bedfellows — from the left-leaning American Civil Liberties Union to the conservative Koch Industries. Arizona Mom Cleared And Released From Death Row In The Killing Of Her Son

Debra Milke is free after spending over 20 years on death row for the murder of her son, Christopher who was 4 years old at the time.

She was accused of killing Christopher because she simply, no longer wanted the child, nor did she want the child to live with his father.

The drug game is and always was a billion dollar industry. Here’s a list compiled by The Telegraph of some of the world’s most notorious kingpins to ever “move dat dope”.


Frank Lucas AKA: “Superfly”

Country of operation: USA

Downfall: His house was raided in 1975 where more than half a million dollars-worth of cash was found at the scene. Lucas was arrested and later sentenced to 70 years in prison for over 100 drug-related convictions.

The heroin dealer and organised crime boss operated in Harlem during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Renowned for buying his supplies direct from sources in the Golden Triangle Lucas stored the goods in coffins of dead American servicemen. His career was famously dramatised in the 2007 film, American Gangster. He was portrayed by Denzel Washington.
