Memphis Rapper Young Dolph Shot Multiple Times In Cali

Sadly another rapper has been the target of a brazen broad daylight shooting over some rap/street beef shenanigans.

Complex Magazine:

Rapper Young Dolph was shot in Hollywood on Tuesday. At around 1:12 p.m. PT, shots were fired in the valet parking area of a Loews hotel in the city’s Hollywood & Highland shopping district.

Not long afterwards, the LAPD confirmed that Dolph was the target of the shooting, that he had been hit multiple times, and he was taken to a nearby hospital.

TMZ also reported on the shooting, and said that Dolph’s injuries appeared to be “non-life threatening.” Complex has reached out to a rep for Dolph, but they could not provide any information as yet. The shooter drove away in a gold Escalade (found empty not far from the scene) and is still at large. One person, who police have confirmed is not the shooter, has been detained.

Complex spoke to the LAPD’s Public Information office. They said only that there was “a victim of a shooting” who “ran into a business, suffering from a gunshot wound.”

Dolph was the target of another shooting back in February, in North Carolina.

TMZ is already fingering Memphis rapper Yo Gotti as the orchestrator of the Hollywood hit. Read that story here.

The two Tennessee MCs have had a long standing beef for some time, trading both verbal shots over wax and literal ‘shots.’

Earlier this year Dolph’s luxury Mercedes Benz tour bus was shot over 100 times during the music CIAA Awards in Charlotte. Catch up on that backstory here.

SMH! I really hope the violence stops before someone gets seriously hurt.

We’ve seen it happen over and over and over. It seems like Hip Hop is the only music genre where the artists are determined to imitate art and the line between art and real life become obscured. Unfortunately once bullets start flying it never ends well.

Check out Young Dolph’s video “PREACH” which put him on the Hip Hop map. Get well Dolph.

Minnesota Man Shoots Up Birthday Party After Guests Refused To Sing To His Girlfriend

According to Daily News– A Minneapolis man has been sentenced to nearly 28 years in prison for opening fire at a birthday party, wounding three people, because partygoers didn’t sing “Happy Birthday” to his girlfriend, officials said Monday.

Delonte Thomas, 20, was convicted of three counts of attempted murder and sentenced to 333 months, or 27 and 1/4 years, in prison for his rampage.

In a bizarre court statement, Thomas called himself a “peacemaker” and claimed he had no recollection of the shooting.

“Everybody makes mistakes, and everybody deserves a second chance. I’m the peacemaker, I’m the one to try my best to make it through a situation. I don’t recall having a gun. I don’t recall shooting (anybody). I just hope to get some type of mercy here.”

The attack came in July 2014 after Thomas brought his girlfriend to a backyard birthday party, according to a criminal complaint. He started a fight with fellow partiers after they sang “Happy Birthday” to the guest of honor — but not to his girlfriend, whose birthday happened to be the same day.

Thomas stormed out of the party, returned 20 minutes later with a semi-automatic handgun and fired at the birthday bash around 1:30 a.m. He singled out a woman who objected to the group singing to his girlfriend, and shot her nine times, the complaint says. The other two victims suffered eight gunshot wounds each. All three underwent surgery and recovered.

Wow! Well it looks like this kid is going to be missing a lot of more birthday songs in the future. Just a wild guess.

Video Shows Police Shooting Man Seven Times Outside California 7-Eleven

LA Times– The deadly encounter occurred about 9:30 a.m., when the officer contacted the man at the 7-Eleven at 6012 Edinger Ave. and the two got into an altercation. The man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The bystander who captured the video told The Times that he was in his car when he saw a police officer backing his cruiser out of the 7-Eleven parking lot. The officer stopped and flashed his headlights at a man dressed in dark clothing. When the officer got out of his vehicle and approached, the man swung at the officer.

The videos show the man standing, turning and hunching his shoulders as the sound of up to seven gunshots can be heard. The officer’s voice also can be heard shouting, “Get down!” The man then drops a dark object from his right hand and collapses to the ground.

Do you think the police officer was justified in shooting this young man seven times?
