LAPD Releases Footage Showing Them Laughing After Killing Another Unarmed Black Man

Los Angeles police officers found reason to laugh after struggling with a schizophrenic man who died in their custody, new video showed Thursday.

The city paid the family of 56-year-old grandfather Vachel Howard a $2.85 million settlement after they filed suit over his June 2012 death at the LAPD’s 77th Street Station Jail.

The video of the fatal clash between Howard and several officers remained out of public view until ProPublica published the silent security camera footage Thursday.

It’s not clear why the officers were chuckling after a nurse examined the motionless Howard, then walked away to get her stethoscope. A lawyer for Howard’s daughter told the investigative news outlet that the video shows how unnecessary it was for him to die.

“Mr. Howard posed no threat whatsoever,” said V. James DeSimone. “He was down on the ground, six officers on top of him, no guns in the nearby vicinity executing a chokehold where there was no threat to the officers or to anybody else. It’s out of policy, it’s unlawful, and in this case it’s murder.”

The police department and the city attorney’s office, which negotiated the settlement last fall after two years of litigation, declined ProPublica’s request for comment.

The officer believed to have used the chokehold received a 22-day suspension. Other officers at the jail that day said they feared for their own lives.

Howard was arrested June 4, 2012, on charges of driving under the influence, according to a 2013 review by the Board of Police Commissioners. Police suspected he had smoked crack and marijuana and possibly taken PCP.

He told one officer after a strip search that he had a history of paranoid schizophrenia and had not taken his medicine recently. The officers described him as apparently hallucinating after his arrest but cooperative during the search.

The struggle began afterward, when police said he became agitated while handcuffed to a bench and advanced toward a nurse in the jail’s dispensary moments later.

Insurance Co. Demands Deion Sanders Pay $43K Medical Bills For Son’s School Beatdown — Bossip

Deion Sanders and his ex-wife are solely to blame for their son’s brutal attack on a school employee – who suffered such severe injuries he had to undergo spinal surgery.

That’s according to the school’s insurance company, which is demanding the NFL legend be ordered to pay $43,000 for the costs of their employee John Darjean’s medical bills. Darjean, an employee at the Dallas high school that Deion’s son attends, sued Deion and his ex-wife Pilar in Dallas County Court demanding mire than one million dollars in damages for the brutal attack at the hands of their offspring.

Darjean said in court papers that he tried to confiscate Deion’s teenage son’s cellphone – which was being used despite school rules banning the use of the device – and it caused the kid to go nuts and brutally beat down the employee. The alleged assault was so bad he needed to go to a local hospital and ended up having spinal surgery.

Earlier this year, the man’s insurance company filed suit over the attack and is seeking $26,000 from the former couple to reimburse the payout they sent Darjean following the attack. The company has accused Deion’s son of having a history of reckless conduct and have blamed his parents for not doing anything to fix his behavior. That lawsuit is still pending and Deion nor Pilar have responded to the suit in court.

Deion has publically said the allegations are false and the man accusing his son of attacking him is a liar and called out the man’s character as being shady. But the school employee filed suit in Dallas County Court on June 20th, just days after Deion publically called him out for targeting his family due to their wealth.

Darjean said he acted in a reasonable and rational manner when asking Deion’s son for his cellular phone, but Shilo Sanders response was to physically assault him, causing him severe and permanent injuries including permanent neurological injuries and damage to his cervical spine.

He blames Deion and his ex-wife Pilar of failing to supervise their child and failing to raise him to not act like a savage in public.

 

UK Man Must Check In With Police Before He Has Sex Says He Was ‘Made Homeless’

A man who must contact police 24 hours before having sex with a new partner said he is currently living rough in the woods.

According to Metro UK News: 

Despite being cleared of rape last month, John O’Neill said he was unable to claim unemployment benefit because he is subject to the Sexual Risk Order.

The 45-year-old, who has previously admitted to having an interest in sado-masochism and used to attend a Fifty Shades of Grey-style fetish club, claimed the order breached his human rights.

He is in court today to challenge the orders.

The single father of two, told BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire programme he is now camping in a tent in a wood near York.

He said: ‘I was homeless before for four years. I thought all this was behind me. To have to go back to it, it has been a bit of a shock.’

Due to the strict restrictions, the former IT consultant said he is unable to work or claim benefits.
Other conditions order him to hand over the PIN for his mobile phone to police, and not to use internet-connected devices which cannot be later checked by officers.

But today a court heard that O’Neill once told a nurse he needed women ‘to be scared or I don’t respond’.

Oliver Thorne, representing North Yorkshire Police, referred to a consultation O’Neill had with a community psychiatric nurse, Kevin Holmes.

‘He has been sexually violent to past girlfriends and he was not sure if they consented,’ Thorne, referring to the notes, said.

Holmes also recorded him as saying he saw a TV drama when he was a teenager which featured a prostitute being murdered and he was excited.

The hearing continues.

A sexual predator? Can’t really say I feel sorry for the guy. At ALL.

My only concern would be him being on the streets, potentially putting other women/children at risk. Jail wouldn’t be so bad as opposed to sleeping in a tent, would it? At least in the slammer he would get 3 hots & a cot and lots of male “attention” — serves him right.
