
Luigi Mangione, charged with the murder of Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare, has received around $40,000 from his fans in his commissary account, a fund that inmates can use for purchases within the prison. Although he can only spend about $175 per week, he buys food, clothing, hygiene products, and stationery. The case has astonished authorities due to the amount of money collected and the inmate’s popularity.
The phenomena surrounding this young man for allegedly gunning down a man in cold blood is incredible.
Besides being as cute as a button, the overwhelming support he receives on social media is evident that an alarming amount of people truly believe he is innocent and/or did nothing wrong. Some of his staunchest supporters even regard him as a robin hood or martyr of the people.
