A child killer has begged a court for protection, complaining that he is being taunted and bashed in prison because of his heinous crime Brok Hughes killed his partner’s three-year-old son Zane Bradbury by throwing him against a wall to punish him for ripping some curtains. He had regularly beaten the toddler and his two younger siblings, despite concerns being raised about his heavy-handed approach to discipline. Now he is being routinely bashed in prison and today asked Supreme Court justice Michael Croucher to suppress his name so the beatings can stop.He said since his incarceration last year he had been abused, bashed and threatened and lived in a constant state of fear of attacks by other inmates. He also said he was taunted by prison guards who told him he “should be raped and slaughtered all over the prison.”””

“I was called a f***ing dog kid killer,” he said giving evidence in the Supreme Court.“Every time there’s publicity, there’s always talk about coming into my cell and beating me up,” he said.

“I was being ridiculed by other prisoners, which led to people confronting me physically. I had to defend myself. I was taken down to solitary.”The court also heard there were fears for the man’s young son. But, siding with Director of Public Prosecutions John Champion SC who opposed the application, Justice Croucher said an order wasn’t necessary.Hughes has pleaded guilty to a charge of manslaughter over Zane’s death on May 9 last year.

He has also pleaded guilty to two counts of intentionally causing injury to Zane and his little brother Chase, who he beat on the face with a coathanger. The court heard on the day he was killed Zane had torn some curtains prompting Hughes to smack him, grab him by the neck and throw him onto his bed. As he landed his head hit a wall causing fatal injuries.Hughes told police later he tried to help Zane regain consciousness, but didn’t call an ambulance for more than 30 minutes. He remained alive in that time but paramedics, who were told Zane had fallen off the bed and hit his head, couldn’t save him.Hughes later admitted the killing to Zane saying the toddler was “being a terror”.“

I really wish this had never happened, I wish I hadn’t have thrown him, I wish I had have known it was serious enough to call an ambulance straight away,” he told police.Mr Champion will consider during the week whether Hughes should face a charge of child homicide, instead of manslaughter. Both offences carry the same maximum penalty.

Suge Knight Misses Court Hearing On Murder Charges After Refusing To Leave Jail Cell

As the Suge Knight Saga continues, Suge Knight decided that he wasn’t going to court to face murder charges because he was under the weather —so he didn’t!

According to the LA Times, after trying unsuccessfully to peel Knight out of his LA County jail cell to attend his mandatory court hearing, the judge on the case contemplated having him forcibly removed.

The judge eventually decided to delay the court appearance to coincide with the former Death Row label owner’s robbery case which was scheduled for May, 29.

Usually Suge uses his health as a “get out of jail” free card, but this time it appears that he used it to “stay in jail”.

Although Marion “Suge” Knight’s alleged involvement in January’s deadly hit-and-run incident is filling the headlines as of late, let?s not forget that the co-founder of Death Row Records is still on trial for another crime stemming from last September.

Yesterday (May 27), Knight was scheduled to appear in court for his role in stealing a celebrity photographer’s camera alongside comedian Katt Williams on September 5. However, Knight’s court appearance was subsequently delayed after he refused to leave his downtown Los Angeles jail cell due to illness, according to Billboard.

Superior Court Judge Ronald Coen was reportedly close to having Knight forcibly removed from his cell, however he instead delayed the proceedings to coincide with a hearing in Knight?s murder case, which is scheduled to take place tomorrow (May 29).

Both Knight and Williams have pleaded not guilty to the charges…

Russia Hopes To Use Prison Labor To Prepare For The 2018 World Cup Tournament

Prison Labour The Russian government has proposed using prisoners to help prepare for the 2018 World Cup.

Alexander Khinshtein, a lawmaker, has gotten the backing of the Russian prison service to enlist some of the country’s prisoners in building projects related to the soccer tournament, the Associated Press reports. Such an initiative would help keep costs of the World Cup down, since Russia typically pays prisoners about $300 per month for labor projects.

“It’ll help in the sense that there will be the opportunity to acquire building materials for a lower price,” Khinshtein told the AP. “And apart from that it’ll make it possible to get prisoners into work, which is very positive.”

The total estimated budget for the 2018 World Cup is 638 billion rubles, or more than $12 billion. However, the Russian ruble has lost significant value against the dollar since the start of 2014 because of international sanctions imposed against the country and the falling price of oil.
