Mendeecees Harris of LHHNY Sentenced To 8 Years For Cocaine & Heroin Distribution

Via Atlanta Daily World– The judge’s decision finally came down on “Love and Hip Hop New York” star Mendeecees Harris — and it was a worse outcome than they could have thought it would be.

The husband to LHHNY’s Yandy Smith has been sentenced to eight years in a federal prison after being convicted on slinging large quantities cocaine and heroin into the state of New York.

It’s not as bad as it could have been after Harris threw himself at the mercy of the court — and the federal prosecutor even asked the judge to go easy on him — when he took a deal and pled guilty to felony drug trafficking and conspiracy, admitting that he and his accomplices ferried large amounts of cocaine and heroin to upstate New York.

Even though he has a 97-month prison sentence in Rochester, N.Y. after his plea deal in U.S. District Court in Rochester in April, Harris could have gotten 40 years and a $5 million fine, which would effectively taken away the balance of the rest of his life.

As it was, Harris’ plea called for a sentence of eight to 10 years in prison.

Despite knowing he may be going to prison for an extended period of time, Yandy Smith still married Harris. He has been free under a bail agreement in which his earnings from the show and his paid public appearances are turned over to the federal government. That amount was more than $100,000 in April but may have significantly grown since then.

Following the sentencing, Mandeecees posted a message that showed a man at peace with himself and offered a message to those who may head down his same path.

British “Catfish” Sentenced To 8 Years For Sexual Assualt

Andy Kelvin—AP Gayle Newland was sentenced after she duped a female friend into having sex by pretending to be a man, on Sept. 9, 2015.

A British woman who pretended to be a man to have sex with a female friend has been sentenced to eight years in prison for sexual assault.

Prosecutors say 25-year-old Gayle Newland went to great lengths to create a male persona, setting up a Facebook account in the name “Kye Fortune.”
The pair spoke by phone over the course of two years and eventually met, with Newland persuading her friend to wear a blindfold.

The deception was discovered when the complainant removed her mask and saw Newland wearing a prosthetic penis.
Passing sentence Thursday, Judge Roger Dutton called Newland’s behavior a callous breach of trust.

Newland claimed her accuser always knew she was pretending to be a man, but a jury convicted her of sexual assault.
