Rapper King Louie Appears On CNN To Discuss Violence In Chicago

Just days after being shot in the head, King Louie joined Don Lemon on CNN to talk about the attempt on his life and gun violence in Chicago. Louie revealed that that the car he was riding in was shot at 22 times and he was hit seven times. There are three slugs still in his body–including one in his head.

During the interview, King L claimed that there is an evil working in Chicago and called for people to pray for the city in an effort to end the senseless violence that has overtaken parts of the Midwest metropolis.

“The Devil’s working overtime, that’s what’s going on in Chicago,” he said. “There’s hope for Chicago. I don’t think I would be here today without prayer…We gotta be strong and pray for our city and the right people just gotta do the right things.”

According to the Sun-Times, the 28-year-old was shot in the Ashburn neighborhood on the Southwest Side of Chicago. He was reportedly taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

The rapper had a busy 2015, releasing the Drilluminati 3: God of Drill and 6 God Tony mixtapes. King Louie, who scored a Grammy nomination thanks to his work on Kanye West’s song “New Slaves,” spoke to XXL in February about his new music and the influence the Windy City has had on the rest of the country.

“We’re known for success and more success than negativity,” he said. “The media try to tell you about all the negative stuff that’s going on in the city but there’s alot of great and successful things going on. A lot of the younger youth in Chicago being successful in the music and in any art. So I feel good as a native of Chicago. My city influenced the country.”

Peewee Roscoe Appealing 20-Year Sentence And Guilty Plea For Lil Wayne Tour Bus Shooting 

  
Jimmy “Pewee Roscoe” Winfrey, the 25-year-old man convicted of shooting at Lil Wayne’s tour bus back in April has put forth the paperwork to appeal his sentence and guilty plea.

According to XXL:

First reported by Bossip, Winfrey and his attorney Steve Sadow filed for the appeal back on Dec. 18, almost a month after his sentencing on various gang-related charges stemming from the shooting. His legal team is arguing that his guilty plea might have been the result of coercion. “The transcript of the guilty plea strongly suggests that my client was pressured, coerced into entering the plea by the comments of the trial judge indicating he would be punished or penalized severely if he did not take the plea,” Sadow recently told Billboard.

The entire criminal case stems from an April 26 shooting, where, according to police, Roscoe pulled alongside Lil Wayne’s tour bus on I-285 in Atlanta and fired multiple shots, following an incident at club Compound where the Cash Money artist has just appeared. Roscoe – a Young Thug affiliate – was arrested a short time later. The original indictment implicated, but did not charge Young Thug and Bryan “Birdman” Williams.

In November, Winfrey pleaded guilty to six of the 27 counts he faced which included aggravated assault, terroristic threats, possession of a firearm by a felon and criminal gang activity. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison and 10 years probation.

  
Meanwhile the Internet is buzzing about wether Lil Wayne and Birdman are back on good terms.

The two former friends who deemed themselves, “father & son” were spotted along with the Drake and others partying in Miami on New Year’s Eve. 

We’re all wondering how “Pee Wee” is feeling about the Wayne/Birdman reunion as he sits in jail on a 20 year bid for shooting up Wayne’s tour bus. 

Prior to sentencing Pee Wee Roscoe accused Birdman of ordering the alleged hit on Wayne, stating during his trail that Birdman should be “held liable“.

Up and Coming Rapper Shot And Killed In N.C. Mall On Christmas Eve

  
Aspiring rapper Donkey Cartel was shot and killed by a police officer during a mall confrontation on Christmas Eve.

WSBTV reported that Cartel, whose real name is Daquan Antonio Westbrook, was shot at the Northlake Mall in North Carolina after pointing a gun at an off duty police officer.

Donkey Cartel was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Five guys started fighting, two of them ran out of the store when the third guy came out of the store he pulled out a gun,” one eye witness said. “Officer stepped up, said put your gun down, he turned around and opened fire.”

Sources say the shooting was in retaliation to another shooting at the same mall on Thanksgiving where Donkey Cartel’s brother was shot and injured.

The up-and-coming rapper had a lengthy criminal record prior to his death that includes 11 arrest including one for shooting a 12-year-old boy.

His music career includes two mixtapes including one titled “Convicted Felon With a Weapon.” He was popular in the North Carlina hip hop scene.
