Sign the Petition: Ban Pet De-Vocalization Surgeries

Good morning hustlers!

So I got an alert for a new signature request from Change.org and wanted to share.

The online petition for WATSON’S LAW, which has currently 69K signatures, is asking for the ban of de-barking animals — mainly dogs.

According to the petition, housing developers are requiring residents to have animals de-barked via a medical procedure called de-vocalization. The procedure removes a part of the animal’s vocal chord to silence the animal. It is irreversible and illegal in 4 states.

Unbelievable! I’ve never ever heard of such. This seems so infringing, insensitive & inhumane! I’ve lived beside a barking dog or two so I can definitely appreciate the need for having strict pet policies within housing communities, but to require residents (and pets) to have to endure this kind of cruelty should be a crime. I can’t believe these corporations are able to get away with this all for the sole purpose of capital gain. I mean what’s next?!

I’m all about solutions. Build more pet friendly neighborhoods. Make more accommodations for both. I’ve lived in neighborhoods where every neighbor had a dog. I’ve lived in neighborhoods where none of the neighbors really had dogs.

I can definitely see why so many young people are starting to choose the country rural life. Less restrictions, less neighbors. More freedom. The sad part is due to US housing shortages tenants are actually having these surgeries done to their family pets. The effects are irreversible so the pet suffers in silence (literally) forever.

I signed the petition, will you? Pet lovers let’s get in the fight for our furry friends, especially those who have lost their voice.

CCTV: Criminals Caught on Tape

The whole world is under surveillance. Conspiracy theorists believe the worldwide implementation of CCTV technology is only to benefit of the government. Some allege “Big Brother” is using the footage to spy on unassuming citizens in order to obtain some level of world order.

While the theories could be accurate, in most cases the footage and images are extremely instrumental in solving crime and assist by identifying both victims & perpetrators.

CCTV footage or closed circuit television (CCTV) records images of people in certain public places including town centres, roads, airports, and on public transport.

CCTV images can be used as evidence in court and many of today’s criminal convictions are as a result of CCTV imagery.

Also did you know that you can request CCTV recordings of yourself?

Here’s how to request CCTV footage:

  1. two official certified documents, which together show your name, date of birth and current address.
  2. a recent full face photo of you.
  3. details of the footage you want to see, for example, the date, time and location.

Get in touch with the facility’s security department or general management team in order to initiate the request. If you are in need of traffic camera footage contact your local police or Department of Transportation.

Generally, most CCTV Footage gets stored for 90 days.

Nashville Store Employee Shoots Pregnant Woman Accused of Shoplifting; Claims Self Defense

Based on my basic knowledge of the law and retail theft protocol, this is definitely NOT self defense. I could be wrong.

I have a few questions.

First of all, why would the employee follow the shoplifter(s) OUTSIDE of the store? By law the theft occurred once the shoplifters exited the building with the stolen merchandise. I can understand the employee attempting to get a license plate number or car description of the shoppers but other than that he should have let the authorities do their job. There was no need to engage the suspects any further. Having worked a retail job before, I am almost sure this is not proper protocol.

Some will say the woman should not be shoplifting while 7 months pregnant. I agree but shoplifting is not a violent crime. Nobody will die from shoplifting (unless they are shot by a semi automatic pistol).

Take the poll below and let me know if you think the employee should be fired? Arrested? Arrested and fired? Or was this self defense?

WKRN Nashville — A Walgreens employee was notified by another employee that two women were stealing items from the store. The employee told police he saw the women putting items into a store cart and into a large over-the-shoulder bag. The employee said he began recording the women with his cell phone and followed them as they left the store without paying for the items.

According to investigators, the employee said as the women began putting items into the trunk of their car, he made his way to the back of the car. That’s when one of the women reportedly pulled a can of mace and began spraying at him.

The employee then pulled his semi-automatic pistol and began shooting, saying he was afraid and did not know if either of the women were armed. The women then fled in their car while the employee went back into the store and called 911.

Investigators said one of the suspected shoplifters, a 34-year-old woman, was seven months pregnant and had been shot multiple times by the employee. The woman she was with dropped her off at General Hospital and drove away. An ambulance then took her to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
