14 Dead In San Bernadino Mass Shooting

Horrible news is breaking out of California that approximately 14 people are dead and 17 are wounded after a mass shooting at a holiday party.

According to the LA Times:

Dressed in black masks and tactical gear, armed with long guns and pistols, they entered a holiday party for county health workers in San Bernardino as it was in full swing. Before they fled, they had killed 14 people and wounded 17 others.

When it was over, a man and woman connected to the assault were dead. One body lay in the street, blood pooling. Another was recovered from the vehicle.

Late Wednesday night, San Bernardino police Chief Jarrod Burguan identified the people killed in the gun battle with police as Syed Rizwan Farook, a 28-year-old American citizen, and 27-year-old Tashfeen Malik. Police did not know where Malik was born or where she had lived.

Public records show that a Syed Farook was employed by the San Bernardino County Health Department as an environmental health specialist, but it was not clear whether that was the same person involved in the shooting. The party was a gathering of employees of the health department.

Farhan Khan, who was identified as Farook’s brother-in-law, struggled to explain the tragic shooting during a news conference held by the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Anaheim late Wednesday.

While federal sources have told The Times that Farook left the party after an altercation, investigators said Wednesday night that the motive for the mass shooting was unclear.

“Is this a terrorist incident? We do not know,” said David Bowdich, assistant director of the FBI’s Los Angeles field office. He later said that terrorism had not been ruled out as a motive.

Smh, these kinds of sick atrocities seem to sadly be becoming the new normal.

Rest in Peace to the innocent people who lost their lives! Read more on LA Times

Lil Wayne Tour Bus Shooter Sentenced To 10 Years

Jimmy Carlton Winfrey pleaded guilty Friday to firing shots at rapper Lil Wayne’s tour buses as they traveled on I-285 in April.

Winfrey, also known as Peewee Roscoe, pleaded guilty to five charges and was sentenced to 20 years, including 10 to serve in prison, according to the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office. Winfrey, who previously worked for the rapper Young Thug, is eligible for parole.

No one was injured on April 26 when multiple shots were fired at two buses traveling on I-285 near I-75, according to Atlanta and Cobb police. About a dozen people were on the buses around 3 a.m. after a performance at the Compound nightclub on Brady Avenue, police previously said.

It was not known if Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, was aboard either of the buses.

Winfrey was allegedly driving when he fired the shots from his vehicle, causing more than $20,000 worth of damage to the buses. He allegedly fired the shots to gain “street cred,”.

On May 21, police secured an arrest warrant for Winfrey, charging him with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, criminal damage, possession of a firearm by a felon, criminal gang activity, reckless conduct and discharging a weapon near the street. Then in June, a grand jury indicted Winfrey on 30 counts.

Via Fortune– Various world leaders met this weekend at the G20 summit in Turkey. The two-day summit is generally a time to discuss economics, but as it convened just two days following the terrorist attacks in Paris, it became an opportunity to discuss the evolving global threat that is the Islamic State.

President Obama declared that he would increase efforts towards eradicating ISIS to prevent more attacks similar to the one that occurred in Paris on Friday, Reuters reports: “The United States and its allies will redouble efforts to find a peaceful solution in Syria and prevent Islamic State militants from perpetrating attacks like those in Paris.”

Reuters writes that U.S. officials are expecting France to up its involvement in the U.S.-led coalition’s bombing campaign against the Islamic State. Obama is taking this opportunity to attempt to encourage other European and Middle Eastern powers to do the same.

Russia began air strikes in Syria nearly two months ago, but has been aiding president Bashar al-Assad, whom Turkey and western allies do not support, by targeting his moderate Syrian opposition. Donald Tusk, president of the European Council, has urged Vladimir Putin to shift Russia’s military efforts to focus on ISIS.

According to a draft communique, as seen by Reuters, leaders at the summit are expected to agree that the migrant crisis is a global problem and they need to coordinate a way to tackle it.

The draft is due to be published on Monday, but has yet to be accepted by all the G20 leaders, specifically China, India, and Russia.
