Video shows a man in the grey backpack pulling out a pistol with a silencer on it before opening fire.
CNN — The CEO of UnitedHealthcare, Brian Thompson, was shot and killed in midtown Manhattan, a law enforcement official tells CNN. A gunman, who investigators tell CNN was waiting for some time before Thompson’s arrival at a company event being held at a hotel, opened fire from 20 feet away firing multiple times, striking Thompson.
Social media is already speculating with most believing this to be a hit and for very pointed reasons.
Hopefully more details will be released soon as to what really happened. The footage is absolutely insane.
The bystander is incredibly lucky to have gotten away without being harmed which makes this assassination seem even more targeted.
According to reports, the gun included a silencer which could have been difficult in busy downtown Manhattan to identify as gun shots.
According to PEOPLE, his wife confirmed he had been receiving threats. “Yes, there had been some threats basically I don’t know, a lack of coverage? I don’t know details,” Paulette Thompson told NBC News. “I just know that he said there were some people that had been threatening him.”
