Netflix Series Leaves Out Relationship with Griselda Blanco and Her Black Boyfriend

Griselda Blanco and Charles

The new Netflix series “Griselda” is out now and fans are calling out a few omissions about the cocaine queen dealer’s life that were left out of the film — mainly her relationship with a black man named Charles Crosby.

Blanco served 15 years in federal prison before being released and deported back to her homeland of Colombia where she was eventually assassinated in 2012.

During her incarceration, ex drug dealer Charles Crosby is the only black man known to date or even get close to the Colombian cartel queen.

Crosby was in his early 20’s and Blanco in her late 40’s. The unlikely romance sprung from a pen pal relationship in which Crosby initiated by writing the queenpin a letter.

The “Godmother” eventually became so smitten with the street level drug dealer that she essentially made him her right hand man in her very lucrative drug distribution cartel. The love affair with Colombia’s most powerful woman netted him millions in cocaine sales within a couple months.

Crosby, now 56 years old, is no longer in the drug game but recounts his hustling days with Blanco on “Cocaine Cowboys 2: Hustlin’ with the Godmother.”

In the documentary, Crosby said Blanco’s crew and subordinates strongly opposed their relationship because he was black but out of fear of Griselda they had to acquiesce.

Eventually the two split after Blanco discovered he was cheating on her with other women including a white woman he met during one of their prison visits.

According to Charles, Blanco was so powerful she had tons of killers and dealers still doing her dirty work, even from behind bars.

She was so furious once learning of his disloyalty that she allegedly put a hit out on him and had him under round the clock surveillance. He somehow escaped death when three Colombian hitmen opened fire on him at a red light in Oakland.

In the end, Charles said he credits his mother’s prayers and extreme luck that he is still alive after his close affiliation with “La Madrina”.

After his relationship with the cocaine cowgirl he was so terrified that he quit the streets and never looked back. He said even though it’s been over 20 years, he still looks over his shoulder but he’s no longer afraid.

He still resides in Oakland.
