Three months after former reality TV personality Brittish Williams was sentenced for fraud, her ex-boyfriend is also accused of schemes connected to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Williams pleaded guilty to five charges in May and was sentenced in October.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that Williams was arrested last week after failing to report to federal prison in West Virginia.
Less than a week after her surrender, the news broke that Williams’ ex boyfriend former professional basketball player Lorenzo Gordon, has now been charged with his own set of financial crimes.
Gordon, who frequently flashed large stacks of cash on his social media, was charged with three counts of wire fraud and one count of theft of government property. He is accused of lying on COVID-19 business relief applications about how long he had operated two businesses, how much money they made, and whether he was the sole owner of a janitorial company.
Federal prosecutors say Gordon collected nearly $273,000 unlawfully, per the newspaper.
During a recent interview with Carlos King, Brittish said that her ex who is also her baby father knew she was committing fraud. Williams said at some point Lorenzo’s basketball check had dried up and they were facing foreclosure on their home forcing her to get it by any means in order to keep the family afloat. Lorenzo tried to distance himself from his baby mother’s claims and immediately denied knowing about her criminal activities via his social media account.
The couple shares a minor age daughter leaving some to speculate why Brittish would risk potentially separating their daughter from her father, especially while she is away serving her 4 year sentence. Social media believes that by her implying that he knew she was committing fraud, she landed him under federal investigation and that ain’t good.
No word yet on when Gordon will be headed to court. Check back in for more updates.
