Maryland Substitute Teacher Fired For Hitting Students With A Leather Belt

wsbtv
MD substitute teacher caught on tape hitting students with a belt.

A male substitute teacher in Maryland was seen on camera “taking it back to the old school” and striking misbehaved students with a good old fashioned leather belt.

Now everyone knows I am an advocate for the “old school” way of doing things, but this teacher had to have known that in today’s cop calling new age times, hitting students with a belt was a.) not appropriate b.)  potential child endangerment or battery charges (among other charges). I am sure the parents of these kids were ready to fight livid.

Do I think this teacher handled disciplinary action in the most appropriate way? NO! But I must admit when I saw the video I chuckled a little on the inside.

Where I am from a little belt whooping “aint” never hurt nobody, but I digress.
