Pennsylvania Trio Strangle Overdosing Man In Car & Dressed Up Body To Look Alive

Three people in Pennsylvania were arrested last week for allegedly strangling a man who was overdosing on drugs with jumper cables, putting a hat and sunglasses on him to make him look alive and dumping his body in the woods.

According to KTLA:

According to investigators in Lackawanna County, suspect Tyler Mirabelli told police his friends called him for a ride when they thought the victim, Joshua Rose, was overdosing. Instead, troopers allege Mirabelli drove his truck north on Interstate 81  from Scranton toward Susquehanna County with the victim, and suspects Preston Layfield and Amanda Wayda in the car.

Prosecutors said they have never seen a case like this before.

“Bottom line, they drove right past a hospital and continued north on I-81. At this time, we are not sure why they did that,” said Pennsylvania State Police Corporal Mark Prushinski.

According to court papers, as the group reached northern Lackawanna County Layfield used jumper cables to strangle Rose.

Troopers said before the trio stopped for gas, they dressed up the body to make him look alive   by placing a hat and sunglasses on him.

“If someone is OD’ing you should help them, right? To the hospital is the number one thing, not strangle them and dump their body. It’s absolutely terrible,” said Brandon Ritter, of Lenoxville.

Detectives said the group then made another stop near on Glenwood Road in Hop Bottom where they heaved the body near some railroad tracks.

Tammy Carey lives right up the hill and heard a train whistle blow as police arrived.

“I thought it was a deer or something on the tracks, but it turns out it was something different,” Carey said.

An arrest warrant was issued for Wayda. State police said she called police on Sunday and told them she had witnessed a murder.

Wayda was taken into custody by troopers from the Frackville station and was being held in the Lackawanna County Prison.

Mirabelli and Layfield were charged with aggravated assault and conspiracy.

An autopsy for  Rose was scheduled for Tuesday. Prosecutors said they expect to file more charges.

Absolutely mortifying and demonic.

Police Draw Guns & Chase 10-Year Old Boy After Mistaking Him For Armed Robber

According to WSBTV Atlanta:

A 10 year-old boy broke down in tears in Newark, New Jersey, after police chased him down, thinking he was an armed robbery suspect, his mother claims.

Legend Preston can be seen crying in a video posted to his mother Patisha Solomon’s Facebook page Aug. 13 after the incident.

When asked why he was nervous, Legend said, “They tried to shoot me […] the cops.”

Solomon said, “A 10-year-old child with guns drawn on him by the Newark police, and the best they can tell me is go make a report if I have something to say about it.”

According to the family, Legend was outside the family’s home when an armed robbery suspect got away. Police then chased Legend through an alley by mistake. They said he “fit the description” of the suspect.
Legend told WABC:

“Some police started coming this way with guns pointed at me, and then I ran into the backyard.”

Solomon said the cops were about to shoot when neighbors came together to make a human shield to protect Legend.

Solomon wrote on Facebook:

Anybody that knows my son knows crying he does not do. He is the ring leading of noise and now he won’t stay off his father’s hip. Scared for his father to leave for work or play outside when he breaks down he says ‘they tried to kill me mommy’ smh.”

The fifth-grader was frightened and shaken up but wasn’t injured.

According to WABC, Newark police say their guns were never pointed at Legend.

The actual suspect, Casey Joseph Robinson, 20, was later captured and charged with attempted robbery.

I have no words. Heartbreaking.
