Former Toronto Mayor Recorded Smoking Crack Has Died

Former Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has died. The 46-year-old Ford gained international notoriety after a video surfaced in May 2013 that apparently showed him using crack.

He served for a decade as a city councilor before being elected mayor in 2010.

He was a bombastic and larger-than-life personality who spoke bluntly — traits that helped him craft an image as a champion for the working class.

He had undergone 18 months of treatment for a rare cancer — leomorphic liposarcoma — that was initially diagnosed during his 2014 re-election bid, the Toronto Star reported. He underwent surgery that was followed by the discovery of two new tumors, according to the newspaper.

Ford’s time as mayor was plagued by scandal.

In May 2013 a video surfaced that appeared to show Ford smoking crack cocaine.

Ford denied any wrongdoing and ignored those calling for his resignation.

“I do not use crack cocaine, nor am I an addict of crack cocaine.”

But as more videos surfaced showing Ford in compromising circumstances, the scrutiny became more intense, and his relationship with the City Council became more acrimonious.

Months later, the admission finally came: He told reporters he “probably” smoked the drug at some point.

“Yes, I have smoked crack cocaine,” he said. “Am I an addict? No. Have I tried it? Probably in one of my drunken stupors.”

Ford refused to step aside, even after the City Council stripped him of most of his powers.

New Iowa Bill Would Allow Children Of All Ages To Handle Guns

The state of Iowa has passed a bill to let children of all ages handle handguns, with parental supervision.

The “Youth Safety & Parental Rights Act” was one of five pro-Second Amendment bills that passed through the House on Tuesday, February 23.

The bill would allow a child of any age to shoot a pistol or revolver with their parent or guardian. Current law allows children 14 and older to do so.

Republican Rep. Jake Highfill said the bill “is one of the best bills we’ve done to advance Second Amendment rights of Iowans.”

“It returns the power back to where it fully belongs,” he said. “Back in the hands of parents to make those decisions they are entitled to do instead of the government.”

WATCH: Cop In Full Uniform Takes A Hit Of A Marijuana Blunt On Camera

I’m not real sure what I just saw, but I’m pretty positive that I just saw an officer of the law –breaking the law.

The ‘pot smoking po-po’ appears to take a toke of ‘cookies’ smoke from a streetgoer’s blunt in full view of a video camera.

I’m not sure if weed is legal in the state this occurred, but I’m pretty sure it’s not acceptable for a cop to ‘partake in the bake’ –um especially in full uniform.

No word on what department this guy works (or should I say worked for) but I’m sure he will have plenty of free time (to get high) on his hands once his superiors get a whiff of this video!

Peep the craziness:
