Occasionally, writers and publishing houses send me books to review. I’m a huge reader so any true crime books I can my hands on I devour. Masking Evil by Carol Anne Davis was definitely no exception.

What sets this book apart from the hundreds of true crime titles on the shelves at the moment is its format. The book covers an overview of 37 different cases of good men and women turned evil, from a charity worker who murdered his wives to a policewoman gone bad.

Davis writes almost as if she has first hand knowledge of the events of each crime, showing how thorough and detailed her research is. The snippets at the start of each chapter give an insight into what you can expect from each case, setting the scene and making this book incredibly hard to put down.

Georgia Church Car Jacker Arrested After Police Chase

Anyone who commits crimes on church grounds does not deserve a place to breathe in the free world. That’s just my personal opinion.

Lock these kind of people up away from the general population and toss the keys.

Channel 2 News (Atlanta):

The Alpharetta Police Department confirmed with Channel 2 Action News that a carjacking happened at a church Friday evening.

Police said Jason Taratoot, 31,  held the victim at gunpoint and stole a green Kia Soul at St. James Methodist Church.

An officer spotted the vehicle driving southbound on Georgia 400, and when Taratoot refused to stop, a short vehicle pursuit started.

The suspect attempted to run away, but was stopped by a police canine.

“Our investigation revealed the captured suspect was a wanted fugitive out of Cherokee County,” the department posted on its Facebook page.

The suspect faces numerous felony charges, including aggravated assault, theft of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen firearm.

No one was hurt and the suspect is now in jail, according to officials.

Transgender Woman Gunned Down In Atlanta

Tee Tee Dangerfield, 32, was gunned down inside her own car July 31 at a College Park apartment complex.

Dangerfield was rushed to the hospital, but she died on the way there.

Channel 2 obtained video of the last time Dangerfield was seen alive.

The video is taken from the 50 Yard Line, a sports bar and grill in South Fulton County she was at just an hour and a half before she was murdered.

In the video, Dangerfield is shown entering the bar then two hours later she’s seen walking out, disappearing into the parking lot.

Her mother Yolanda Dangerfield:

“She didn’t deserve that at all. You just have to know her. She was the sweetest person you’d ever want to meet.”

It is unclear whether Dangerfield’s transgender identity was a factor in her murder.

Regardless of the motive, her family wants the killer caught.

Dangerfield’s aunt Alesa, said:

“Whoever did that they’re wrong for that. I want justice, I want justice”
