The Woman Who Inspired “Orange Is The New Black” Talks Prison

Piper Kerman’s number one goal is to reduce the number of people in prison.

She spent 13 months at a correctional centre in Danbury, Connecticut from February 2004. As a white, middle-class prisoner, Kerman quickly became aware of the ways the prison system fails Americans – but particularly poor Americans, and people of colour. Since her stint behind bars, she’s become a vocal advocate for prisoners rights.

She’s been on the board of the Women’s Prison Association for six years and teaches non-fiction writing in two prisons in Ohio. And in a move that brought her story to prominence, she also wrote a memoir that served as the inspiration for hugely popular Netflix show Orange Is The New Black.

Female Store Clerk Chases Off Robber With Her Bare Hands And A Hammer

Georgia gas station employee fought off would be robber with her bare hands and a hammer.

This female might be one of the toughest chicks I’ve seen in awhile. She brought a hammer to the gunfight. Talk about badass!

A would be robber came into to the Keysville Convenience Store on employee Bhumika Patel’s shift with intensions of sticking up the place. Instead of getting away with the cash, he ended up getting attacked by the fiesty lady clerk. Ultimately, he was chased out of the store by Patel and her hammer. LOL!
Here’s the gist:

The teenager waltzed into the gas station shop on Tuesday, picked up a can of Mountain Dew and approached the counter to pay for the soda.

When Patel popped open cash register’s drawer to make change, the normal transition turned violent: the teen whipped out a gun from his hoodie pocket and pointed it at the clerk.

Patel told WFXG news after the stickup:

“I said, ‘Go ahead. You wanna shoot me? Go ahead.’”

Patel credits her faith in a higher power for her stoic bravery in the ordeal:

“I just believe strongly in my religion and my God, if he wants to save me, nobody can touch me,” she said. “That’s why I’m like, ‘No.’ I have my God everywhere with me.”

“That’s why I’m like, ‘No.’ I have my God everywhere with me.”

MRI Appears To Show Twin Siblings Fighting In The Womb

This incredible video shows two twin siblings appearing to be struggling to get comfortable inside the womb.

An MRI shows two babies as they are appearing to repeatedly fight and make up… Typical of siblings. Especially me and my sisters & brothers.

The bigger of the two appears to not only be getting more of the food, but more of the space.

It looks like these babies are already fighting, and making up, while in the uterus! It is amazing how much we can see in the womb today with modern technology. These images were taken from an MRI scan, or magnetic resonance imaging.

The details that can be seen are incredible, especially the way these two little people are moving around trying to get comfortable. It seems sibling rivalry has already begun in the womb, at one point one twin seems downright frustrated, and kicks repeatedly at the other baby. The way the baby on the left moves its head and jaw, (watch closely at 100) for a second, it very sweetly looks like it kisses the other baby on top of the head.

This scan was done as part of a medical study in London, and the pictures were taken while the researchers, and Dr. Marisa Taylor-Clarke, were studying a rare medical condition that affects twins.

We at Faithreel.com are grateful they shared this, it is a lot like seeing into a mysterious world we used to know so little about. These little babies are a beautiful sight to behold, and we’ve had the privilege of seeing what love looks like growing beneath.
