Netflix Raising Monthly Subscription Fees May 1 – 2016

Well…It’s gonna cost you a couple more dollars to “Netflix & chill”….

According to AJC Atlanta:

Starting in May, Netflix’s standard streaming plan will cost $9.99 a month for everyone. As of now, people who subscribed earlier than May 2014 have only been billed their old price of $7.99.

Forty-one percent of customers surveyed said they wouldn’t accept a hike, but only about 3 percent of users are expected to actually leave because of it.

Customers in favor of traditional TV outlets may be in for a rude awakening. Some of the largest cable and satellite companies nationwide are also raising prices.

Customers of DirecTV, AT&T U-verse, Time Warner Cable, Comcast and Dish Network will all see their bills go up by at least $2. So no matter what, it’s going to cost more.

Here’s the thing, can anyone tell me why the rates are going up for the same service?  I personally am a HULU girl but I’m sure at some point they’ll follow in the Netflix footprints being as though they are direct competitors.

As a consumer that’s a bummer.

California Lawmakers Want To Allow Police Use Of DUI Device To Check High Drivers

According to the LA Times:

Legislation would allow police officers to use oral swab tests to strengthen cases when there is probable cause that a driver is impaired and the driver has failed sobriety field tests.

A hand-held electronic device would test for the presence of marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines and pain medications, including opiates, on the swab.

According to Republican Sen. Bob Huff of San Dimas, who authored the bill:

“Sadly, we’ve become a nation of self-medicating, careless people. The public is naïve in understanding how dangerous our roads are made by people who are abusing opiates, meth and cannabis.”

“My Strange Addiction”

In today’s blank stare news….

Anybody watch this show? Strange is an understatement.

The only thing weirder than the addictions is these people’s willingness to admit their addictions.

My first time watching this show a few years back, I had the pleasure of catching the “I Love My Car” episode.

I couldn’t turn away.

Meet Nathaniel.

Nathaniel is in a committed relationship with his car, an older model red Grand Prix he affectionately named, Chase. Nathaniel caresses and kisses the car and admits he even gets sexually “physical” with Chase, referring to the car as his “sexy man.”
