Pennsylvania Chef Feeds Thousands Impacted by Floods

What the world needs is a trillion more of these kind people. Kudos to Chef Quintanna for stepping up to help the community in a desperate time of need!

FOX 5 SAN DIEGO – A chef in Schuylkill County has fed 8,000 people and counting who are in desperate need of help in the flood zone near Port Carbon.

Flood waters ravaged the town on Monday.

Some people weren’t able to have a hot meal until Hiram Quintana showed up.

He is the owner of the Tamaqua Trading Post restaurant and he made it his mission to help.

He was cooking up 350 pounds of pork when Newswatch 16 showed up. He wants to feed everyone who wants a hot meal in the flood zone near Port Carbon. He hasn’t stopped since Monday.

“I’ve fed them 24 hours a day. I kept the smokers rolling all day, making sure everyone was nourished. Nobody was hangry so everything came together,” Quintana said.

Just down the street at United Methodist Church, families can have a real dinner eating Quintana’s food.

For some, it was the first hot meal they’ve had all week.

Most people in Port Carbon still don’t have running water.

“We just got power yesterday and [we’re dealing with] the six inches of sludge and I just bought my house in May,” Donna Henninger said.

People here in Port Carbon are still cleaning out and salvaging whatever they can after the flood, which is why this outpouring of community support means so much.

“Very warm in the heart. I kind of want to cry,” Beverly Nally said.

Volunteers have basically set up a grocery store of free donated cleaning supplies and food. There for the taking for anyone who needs it.

“So many people in this area think they get forgotten about because the coal industry isn’t what it used to be,” Volunteer Lori Lewis said.

But it’s people like Quintana that make everyone in Port Carbon remember, they are not forgotten.

“Feed a city? I can do that. Feed a state? I can do that. Plus it’s not just me, it’s the whole community,” Quintana said.

If you want to help with donations, you can drop off non-perishable foods and cleaning supplies at the Port Carbon Borough building.

This Sunday, Quintana said he’ll be hosting a block party near the borough building and handing out grocery bags full of food for everyone who needs it.

Funeral Home Cremates Woman by Mistake, Gives Ashes to Wrong People

HOUSTON — A Texas family is suing a funeral home accused of cremating a woman who was supposed to be buried, then giving her ashes to another family.

Roberta Salazar’s relatives say the 79-year-old helped plan her own funeral, down to the dress she would wear. Instead of embalming Salazar’s body, however, they say Grace Funeral Home in Victoria not only cremated her — but gave the remains to the wrong family who then buried the ashes, thinking they were burying their loved one.

Now, the Salazar family is suing the funeral home for $50 million in damages, and the family’s attorney says the story only gets worse.

The lawsuit claims the funeral home let the Salazar family know they had mistakenly cremated Roberta’s body – but only days before her scheduled funeral in March of 2017. Their attorney says the funeral home had first tried to cover up the error by trying to convince the family to have a closed casket, saying the body had deteriorated.

The funeral home gave the following statement to KIAH:

“Grace Funeral Home deeply regrets the mistake in cremating Ms. Salazar’s body […] specific details were provided to assure the family that the cremated remains provided for burial were those of Ms. Salazar. There were no efforts to deceive anyone about what occurred.”

Salazar has four children, 22 grand children with 51 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. Salazar’s faith also forbids cremation, according to KIAH.

The family says they will bury Salazar’s cremated ashes next to her late husband.

The funeral home has just over two weeks to respond to the $50 million lawsuit.

Reality TV Star Omarosa Threatens to Release More Secret Recordings

Cutthroat reality TV star Omarosa Manigault-Newman is done cooning it up and decided to fight back after she was ~~put out~~ dismissed from her cushy White House gig and allegedly forcefully escorted off the property.

Now she is ready to serve all the tea and juicy gossip about the alleged crime, corruption & racism that she witnessed during her employment at the big house.

Manigault-Newman is famous for stirring up controversy as one of the most recognized breakout reality tv stars of Trump’s The Apprentice television show. In early 2017, she followed ‘the Donald’ to Washington where she was hired by his administration to serve as the Director of Communications for the Office of Public Liaison. In December of 2017 news broke that she was ‘fired and physically dragged’ from the WH property. August 2018, she released the first of as many as 200 secret tapes she recorded during her tenure at the Executive Mansion. She also released a book entitled, Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House.

While the tapes are scrumptious television/tabloid fodder, exposing political debauchery has never ended favorably ~~especially for people of color~~ and Omarosa is playing with Secret Service hand grenades. Honestly, I am a little worried for her. Is she really exposing any deep dark secrets about the Trump mafia that the general public didn’t already suspect? Apparently she was the last to get the security clearance memo that she was just the token ~~black~~ pawn in the White House and that her prestigious Director of Communications liaison title was nothing more than complimentary & did absolutely natta to improve race relations or advance people of color.

Let’s hope Mrs O sells enough copies to secure top flight security because something tells me that she is in for the battle of a lifetime (literally) if she keeps releasing tapes.
