Twitter: Photos & Videos Will No Longer Count Toward 140-Character Limit

Here’s some great news for the occasional Twitter ranters such as myself. In attempt to compete with its biggest social media adversaries, Facebook and Instagram, the micro-blog style social network has officially loosened the reigns on its 140-character limit.

The social network said in a tweet on Monday that photos, videos, polls and GIFs no longer count toward your 140 character total in tweets.
