Fans are mourning the death of veteran actor Tony Todd who has died at age 69.

The American supernatural horror film series originating from the 1985 short story “The Forbidden” from the collection Books of Blood by Clive Barker, about the legend of the “Candyman”, the ghost of an artist and son of a slave who was murdered in the late 19th century.
The role was played by Tony Todd, who is best known for his portrayal of Daniel Robitaille, also known as the Candyman, a killer who is summoned by saying his name five times in front of a mirror.
The film features creepy visuals, a chilling musical score, and unsettling themes of urban legends, racial tensions, and the blurring of reality and the supernatural. Many viewers find the film to be effectively suspenseful and unsettling.
The news of Todd’s passing was confirmed to CNN on Saturday by Todd’s talent agent, Dede Binder, of the Defining Artist agency. No additional details on the actor’s death were immediately available.

According to CNN, Todd also enjoyed a robust career as a television actor, appearing in multiepisode arcs in series including MTV’s “Scream: The TV Series,” NBC’s “Chuck,” “24” on Fox and the CBS daytime drama “The Young and the Restless.”
